The Golden Arrow Prayer is a beautiful prayer dictated by Our Lord to Sister Marie of St Peter, a Carmelite nun in Tours, France. It is part of the Holy Face Devotions, which aim to make reparation for Blasphemy and for the insult to Our Lord of not keeping holy the Lords Day. The Holy Face Devotion was approved by Pope Leo XIII in 1895 and Pope Pius XII in 1958.
The Holy Face image below is an artist’s drawing that was created at the exact time of the famous miracle at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, January 6, 1849, in which the Veil of Veronica, which was on public display, became very distinct and glowed with a soft light and revealed more details of Our Lord’s Sacred Face. The image below is from the Manual of the Archconfraternity of The Holy Face, which was published shortly after the miracle occurred.
